***Official nwBMWclub Auto Cross Point Series***

I thought it would be fun to keep track of the OUR members during this Auto Cross season since it looks as if we will be having more regular's out there.

Basic Information:

- The points season doesn't start UNTIL the first actual Auto Cross which is April 25th/26th.

- The top three people with the most points at the end of the season will be rewarded with a prize to be determined at a later date and handed out at our last event of the year as well as some other misc stuff (we will also hand out awards like "Wildest Run," Most Improved and more)

- You MUST be a club member and drive at least a BMW made car (Mini's DO count)

- Points are only awarded for ASNW events. SSSCC events do not count

The Point System:

Points will be awarded to drivers for competing in their classes as follows:

S1 - SS, AS, FS
1st Place: 6 Points
2nd Place: 5 Points
3rd Place: 4 Points
4th Place: 3 Points
5th Place: 2 Point

One point for competing no matter what

S2 - BS, CS, ES
1st Place: 6 Points
2nd Place: 5 Points
3rd Place: 4 Points
4th Place: 3 Points
5th Place: 2 Point

One point for competing no matter what

S3 - DS, GS, HS
1st Place: 6 Points
2nd Place: 5 Points
3rd Place: 4 Points
4th Place: 3 Points
5th Place: 2 Point

One point for competing no matter what

SM/SSM
1st Place: 6 Points
2nd Place: 5 Points
3rd Place: 4 Points
4th Place: 3 Points
5th Place: 2 Point

One point for competing no matter what

Novice, Street Tire
1st Place: 4 Points
2nd Place: 3 Points
3rd Place: 2 Points

One point for competing no matter what

Fastest PAX Times added onto Class Points:
1st Place: 3 Points
2nd Place: 2 Points
3rd Place: 1 Points

Vintage I don't think we will have to worry about.

Novice and Street Tire gets the least amount of points due the level of competition in those classes, usually. I will re-evaluate the Tire class midway through the season but from my experience, Adam's E92 can run in this class and just dominate which makes it a bit unfair in my opinion.

Fastest PAX times points will be added onto your season total.

Do you agree with it though? Looking back over last year's classes, there wasn't much if any competition in the new S3 class.

There was no S3 (Stock 3) last year, we split stock into 3 classes this year to match SSSCC and to make an extra class for end of season awards.

Also, you should have points for top 3 PAX times (FTD-PAX) since that helps to equalize slow/fast cars especially between all the flavors of BMW's we have around here!

And no to SM/SSM getting more points since they have the ability to build the hell out of their cars and will get FTD more frequently then other classes, which more then equalizes them.

My final analysis is:
- All classes receive same point levels (I earned my skills, I deserve credit for them)
- FTD-PAX should be included
- FTD should be eliminated (MR2 and I would be the only ones to POSSIBLY get it), I may be wrong, but I doubt it...
