|
Just a quick announcement...
We have decided to donate $300 to Scott Norton for his race efforts coming up in Spokane. I'm still discussing the details of what the club gets in return (other then out sticker on his car) with Scott and maybe he can chime in when he sees this.
Scott is a great guy and I wanted to help him in anyway possible. He's still looking for a couple of cheap Hotel nights so if anyone has a possible hookup for July 17th-19th, please let me know ASAP!
Anyways here's a few pictures...

First of all thanks James! Thanks nwBMWclub.com! We have never raced at Spokane before and we are very excited about it.
Being an ultra low budget racer (Mitchel knows) this $300 will be the difference between making it to Spokane or not. After tearing up the splitter and having to get tires mounted I was not sure. Then talked to the CFO (Wife) it just was not in the cards. So I told her I will run my older crappier tires, screw the splitter and will take a tent and sleep on the ground if we have too.
But with James and the club helping we will be there. We can work out what you guys in the club would like to do. We will be arriving late Thursday night 9:30ish and will have to leave immediately after the races Sunday. So that is the time frame we have to work with. All club members and friends are invited to join us in the pits, hang out, hell you can even sit in the car and make racing noises if you want.... (why not I do in the garage).
As for the decals I see you guys usually run them on the rear side windows. So let me measure up the area and get back to you tomorrow. As for color what do you guys think? You can see my car is a mosaic of different colors and sponsors.
Oh and the decals will be on the car the rest of the year.
I will continue to post race recaps for your amusement/enjoyment....
If the clubs have a banner or signs we can hang that from the EZ UP too. I am willing to do what ever we can for the help!
Set up a booth at our pit promoting the club and the events you all put on?
Having raced in front of my family and friends in Canada I cannot tell you how inspiring it is to have people around supporting and encouraging our team.
We will be racing in two classes per day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Also there is a special BMW Only Race on Saturday the last race of the day. The entry is $125.00. I am working on trying to find a way to enter that race also. I don't have a chance of winning that race unless a car or two breaks. But we would have a decent shot at the podium. This race pays cash to the winner only about 80% of the entry fee. The points races are much more important then this race.
Yea I gave Mitchel a diff, but he helped me out before that with my first set of real race tires way back in 2007. Not to mention the engine hoist used for the race motor build up.
We might not be the fastest be we do the most with the least. And NO ONE has more fun then we do no matter what the finish.
Also I would be remiss if I did not mention another great friend Ashis who posts here. I meant Ashis through Mitchel. I could write a 3000 word essay on all the help/assistance/parts/tires etc he has donated and helped me with. Not to mention when my car broke last year he went and found me a car to drive for a CT/TT race at Bremerton with SCCA. He is truly a one of a kind person and I am honored to call him my friend.
Hopefully we can get some more videos (I have them) posted. My pc at home is POS and won't/can't edit videos. Ashis has been kind enough to try to edit some videos and see if we can get them posted up. _________________ Scott (Badass) Norton BMW E36 3.2L GTR Race Car

Wow, that would be great James if some how that worked out.
I am entered just in case something comes through. I entered a few days after the race announcement as that race's starting position is determined by when the entry is received.
Thank you for all the effort and support! _________________ Scott (Badass) Norton BMW E36 3.2L GTR Race Car

Scott,
I can get decals cut in any size that you would like!
It would be great to get some legit exposure and represent this BMW community in the PNW. (that rear, driver side quarter panel?)
Just let me know ASAP.
If we place the decal on the glass, white will be our best option. If we place it on the car itself... perhaps RED to match the LTW flag.
Would any of our members be able to HOST Scott and his wife for the nights to help absorb hotel costs? _________________

Appreciate the offer of hosting but the wife is not making this trip. My brother (Crew Chief) is though. If considering hosting us bare in mind we both SNORE really bad.
Really all we need is a place to throw our airbeds down and take a shower in the morning. We need to get up early at be at the track at 7AM also so if your a late riser consider that.
Stickers-quarter panel is tough as that is wear the checkered flag on the passenger side wraps around. I can offer the top of the rear wing but I am sure how well it is seen trackside? If on the car a redish/orange would be nice and show up better then black which would blend in with all the other black graphics.
Maybe white on the windows and the redish on the top of the rear wing ?
The back (bottom) of the rear wing is available but the rear bumper cover is bigger and more easily seen.
I will measure up the locations and post them up tomorrow for your guys review.

sounds good.
Also, I've got a big tent that I'd be willing to donate to the cause, but I don't have the space to pitch here at my place. _________________

Good Work!
That looks great but there is one issue. On the other side of the car the flag wraps around to the center of the wheel well almost. Would not fit.
If you look at the 4th picture you can see how the flag wraps around.
I was going to measure the wing and bumper and windows.
But my brother was admitted to the hospital with chest pains yesterday.
After 24 hours of sheer terror he has high blood pressure and will be okay. Scared the crap out of me. Not only is he my brother but my best friend my whole life and all the family we have left is each other. But he is fine now and back to work tomorrow.
Anyway I will go measure the wing and rear bumper and the side window areas above the current decals there now.
I think red on the top of the rear wing, and the rear bumper (big) and then white on the side windows would be easy to read and look good.
Whatcha think? Can you photo shop that up? (hint). _________________ Scott (Badass) Norton BMW E36 3.2L GTR Race Car

Hey Eric I remember you! Turns out the wheels I bought from you would not clear the front calipers (14" rotors with Stoptech 4 pistion calipers) so I had to sell them. I was sooooooo bummed I loved those wheels. _________________ Scott (Badass) Norton BMW E36 3.2L GTR Race Car
