Taken from our good buddy Jerry...

Quote:
EuroMeet 2010 -
A 2 day event to celebrate European Automobiles! Join us on Saturday May 1st for our 150+ mile cruise around beautiful lake Coeur'D Alene and through windy roads of the Eastern Washington back country. We'll continue the party that night with the help of some gracious hosts and culminate the event with our judged Show & Shine.
The venue for the show this year is MIRABEAU POINT PARK in the Spokane Valley.

This year, because we're doing things a bit differently, we'll need to charge $5 per car for the 2 day event. This will cover the cost of the event plus and give us all a little something to take home when it's done. Think 'swag bag'.

So, get your rides ready, rust that E21 hood, polish that Porsche chrome, murder out the Mk4, stretch yo rubber on yo rimz, do what ever it takes to get ready for Euromeet 2010! We'll see you there.

When:
May 1st and 2nd.
Show up for the cruise before 10AM. That's when we get the ball rolling.
For the Show & Shine please start rolling in by 10AM. Judging will start at noon.

Where:
The Cruise - May 1st

The Cruse route is around beautiful Lake Coeur 'D Alene in northern Idaho. We'll meet up at the Albertson's parking lot in Liberty Lake, WA and be on the road by 10AM. The group will drive down I-90 and take the Wolf Lodge Bay exit # 22. Make a right turn onto 97 and head south. There, we'll stop for the usual pre-cruise shake down. We usually give the drivers meeting aka 'rules of the road' here. While the rules are being delivered, several cars will head out ahead of the others to do the following: 1) stop at key points along the cruise route to keep folks from going off course. 2) take pictures/video of the cruise participants. 3) to make sure we don't have any misbehavior along the cruise route.

A map of the cruise route will be posted here and each participant will be provided a 'cruise packet' at the drivers meeting.

We will stop in Harrison for a while but plan on having lunch in St. Maries. The location for lunch is still TBD.

In the past, the route out of St. Maries has usually led the group to the Coeur 'D Alene casino where it has normally ended there. This year, we'll stop briefly to allow people to gas up. Then we're back on the road to make a left turn onto 58 which will take us through Rockford. We'll have cruise 'staff' posted here to make sure you can find your way onto the E. Valley Chapel Rd. We'll stay on that road until it joins the E. Palouse Hwy which will take us into the Spokane Valley.

We will end the cruise at Mirabeau Point Park, the site of the Show & Shine.

Notes: Keep in mind that this is a long drive and will take up most of the day. So, bring a full tank of gas, snacks, drinks, 2-way radios, etc. We'll cover everything else at the drivers meeting.

The Show & Shine - May 2nd
MIRABEAU POINT PARK, 13500 E. Mirabeau Parkway, 99216.

There is ample parking in the lot but our goal is to get all of the show cars onto the grass. So, depending on the weather (pray for no rain!) we'll all be showing on the lawn.
The site has very nice facilities and should accommodate all of our cars and show attendees.

Judging and Classes -
In years past we had not judged cars choosing instead to keep it on the DL. But, due to popular demand and because we think the event has grown enough to warrant it, we'll have several classes that will be judged covering all of the kinds of vehicles that'll participate. To keep our event a bit different than others the judges will not just be members of our staff, but participants of the show. For best of show, best of this or best of that. The judges will be you! Keep posted for more details on that.

Awards -
Awards for the show will not be posted here. Don't expect any huge payouts, but do expect the different and unusual. Look out best of show!

Cost
$5 bucks per car. Please bring cash. Correct change is welcome. This will be collected on the morning of the Cruise. You'll receive your 'swag bag' which will include the cruise route map, raffle ticket for the show (it'll also get you on the lawn for the show), and a sticker for your ride to commemorate the event.

Unfortunately this will be the first year I've missed this event since 2004 as it conflicts with Auto Cross. However, the rest of the club who doesn't AutoX should attend this event and represent the club.

I don't understand why not, you're fixing the subframe bushings or whatever you were using for an excuse before... and if I'm out there there really isn't any excusing that its too pretty for auto-x.

It's got more to do with time and money than it does with my car. Weekends with the kids are pretty important as is spending some time with my wife. I have several weekends during the summer that I'm already dedicated to doing BMW stuff. Trying to do some AutoX just isn't even on my radar.

Well we're talking substituting one of those BMW designated weekends with a different BMW event. Plus you could bring the wife and kids out if you wanted, it is a family atmosphere.

Wives? Pshh. Kids? Pshh. I can't believe you let stuff like that get in the way of expensive time-consuming hobbies.
